Obituary of Mary Adele Strohl
Adele was called to heaven on January 8, 2018. She was at home with her family. Adele had been treated for cancer since December 2013.
She was born on September 30, 1930 to William D. Phillips and Alma Mae (Shirley) Phillips in Gaffney SC.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Robert Duane Strohl, son Robert David Strohl, daughters Vicki Lyn Johnson and Meri Lee Erwin, brothers William Phillips and Neal H. Phillips, 4 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and 3 great grandsons.
Adele was employed for 22 years by the Boeing company, New Orleans, Seattle, Cape Canaveral, and then again in Seattle. She retired in August 1989 and moved back home to Melbourne FL.
One of Adele’s proudest memories is that she jumped from the Boeing 757 and 767 during evacuation slide tests that are part of the FAA qualification process.
She was a devout Christian and will be greatly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
