Obituary of Raymond Blais

Raymond Blais, 68, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 in Melbourne, Florida. He was born April 13, 1947 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Maurice and Rita Blais. Raymond served in the United States Navy from 1966-1970, ranked FTG-3. He was a Third Class Petty Officer Fire Control Technician and did two tours in the Vietnam War. During this time, he was awarded many medals and honors including the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with stars: Vietnamese counteroffensive phase III, TET counteroffensive, and Vietnamese counteroffensive Phase IV; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device; and the Meritorious unit commendation ribbon for outstanding service. Raymond is survived by his wife Connie; daughters Kathy (Tyler) Kangas, Debbie (Steve) DeVries, and Paula (Mark) Blanchard; son Dave Blais; sister Linda Poyer; grandchildren Amanda, Landon, Annsie, Jeff, Brian, Emily, Abbey, Peter, Adey; and great grandchildren Nathalee and Livey.In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Raymond Blais’ name to the Disabled American Veterans Association, 2265 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935.
