Obituary of James Lynn Judson

James Lynn Judson, age 93, of Melbourne, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019 at Holmes Regional Medical Center. James, known to many as “My Jim,” was born on March 16, 1926 in Little Washington, PA. He was the only child of Frank and Emily Judson, both whom preceded him in death. James honorably served in World War II with the United States Navy. After the end of the war, he graduated from the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond. In the 1960’s, he was an Aerospace Engineer at Cape Canaveral for NASA, which was called NACA at the time. After the famous Moonwalk, he changed careers and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was a successful Yacht Broker of yachts, commercial ships and barges from 1969 until 2009, selling private yachts and passenger cruise vessels. James was a very humble, charitable and faithful servant of the Lord; with everything he kept his eye on the Cross. His love for Christ was a part of his entire life. He started as a Sunday School teacher and faithfully served as a Deacon and Elder at Coral Ridge Church in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for 20+ years and then an Elder at Christ Community Church for 8 years in Pompano Beach, FL. He was a steadfast and unmovable part of the Evangelism Explosion for over 25 years. James was a direct descendant to President Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president and Kit Carson, the famous frontiersman in the Civil War. James was a bodybuilder since the age of 15. He had a great sense of humor and loved spending time on the water. Living in Lighthouse Point, FL on the canal was a dream. He was a Gideon and Shriner. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Rachelle Judson; two daughters, Donna Baker and Mary Sue Randolph; a son, David Judson; seven grandchildren, Carson Emmons, Casey and Eleanor Baker, Damian, Tristan, James and Christopher Judson; three great grandchildren and a nephew, Paul Lacko. Throughout his life his “precious kitties” were his constant companions; Tarzan, Loverboy, Sissyboo, Charlie the K-Mart cat, Blackie and Angel. He loved his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be fittingly held on Veterans Day at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Melbourne with Dr. Scott Wilson presiding. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Burial will follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL. Surely the Lord will greet him with: “Well done my good and faithful servant!” “Welcome Home!”
