Obituary of Edwina Mildred Pearce
Edwina Mildred Pearce, age 95, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
She was born in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania on April 1, 1923 to the late W.J. Bryan and Ruth (Gilchrist) Fennell.
Edwina worked in the library at Oak Ridge High School in Orlando for ten years and had a lifelong passion for reading. A founding member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Pine Castle, Edwina cherished the many lifelong friendships that ensued. She also loved to sew, quilt, knit and cook.
She is survived by her children, David (Mary) Pearce, Jeff (Kathy) Pearce, Leanne Millar and Doug (Mary) Pearce; brother Richard Fennell; 6 granddaughters, Shannon (Jon) Hazen, Stephanie (Leigh) Harmon, Sarah (Henry) Ngo, Kristin (Carlos) Salazar, Jessica Pearce and Melanie Pearce; step granddaughter Barbara Amsler, and 12 great grandchildren.
Per Edwina’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest next to her loving husband, Beyer S. Pearce Jr., at their cabin in the mountains of North Carolina, where they enjoyed square dancing and hiking.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Millar, and brothers Vernon Fennell and Jim Fennell.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Orlando on Feb 9th at 1pm.
