Obituary of Ellen Pitts Miller

Ellen Pitts Miller Of West Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on November 21st, 2019, at the age of 77. Ellen was born in Seaford, New York on April 1st, 1942, to Charles and Gladys Pitts. Ellen was a critical care nurse in New York until she moved to Florida in the 1980’s, where she continued to work as nurse until 2000. However she maintained her nursing license in case she ever decided to use it again. She was always very passionate about her nursing career. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and had a great passion for genealogy, with the great love of her ancestry, dedication to research, with instructions to leave it as a gift to all who cross paths with it, that they may find help in their own research. As she found many cousins in doing so. She was part of the Girl Scouts of America in the 1950’s which she always cherished. Ellen leaves behind 3 sons, Jeffery Miller of Satellite Beach, Florida, Daniel Miller of Floral Park, New York and Gary Miller of Palm Bay, Florida. 3 grandchildren, Maguire Miller of New York, Brieanne Miller of Long Beach, New York and Daniel Miller Jr of New York. 2 sisters Kathi Pitts of Montgomery, New York and Ilse Pitts of San Antonio, Texas. A brother Morse Pitts of Montgomery, New York as well as a host of cousins and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her son David and parents Charles and Gladys Pitts. Ellen’s family would like to extend their gratitude to the William Childs Hospice house for their wonderful care during her finals days. A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay.
