Obituary of Marvin G. Novak
Marvin G. Novak was born January 31st 1944 to Marvin A. Novak and Ruth Gesslein Novak in Mendota, Illinois. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 18th 2018. Marv suffered with MDS.
Marvin was a loving husband, dedicated family man, and deeply committed to his Catholic Faith. Mr. Novak dedicated many hours to Saint Pius X Catholic Church and rectory in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, playing an instrumental role in planning of its new Church kitchen. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic church in Indialantic, Florida. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, an achievement of which he was very proud.
A graduate of Trinity College, in Colchester, Vermont, Marvin was a Plant Engineer for several food manufacturing facilities throughout his career.
In Illinois, he was a football and basketball referee and a baseball and softball umpire, positions he enjoyed immensely. In Vermont he relished his role as a girls’ softball coach. An RVer, golfer, sport fisherman, and avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching his beloved Chicago Bears on TV.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Connie Yohn Novak and children: Shelly Novak, Scott Novak, Holli Novak Bolio (Earl David), Bradley Koehler (Amy Trubek), Todd Koehler (Michele Bustos) and Julie Koehler and grandchildren Kyle, Meshae, Cassandra, Dylan, Katherine, Emily, Arron, Noah and Emma and great grandchildren Alecktra, Makayla, and Azalea.
Marv was easy going, well respected, and well loved. He will be greatly missed.
