Obituary of Sara Lee Sigoloff

Sara Lee (Davis) Sigoloff, 91, a resident of Brevard County, Florida, passed away peacefully at the Health First Hospice, Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Sara Lee was born on October 1, 1928, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Samuel Davis and Eva (Freeman) Davis. She was united in marriage to Edwin “Eddie” Earl Sigoloff of Columbia, Missouri on August 3, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska. He passed away in 2002. Survivors include: her daughters, Nancy Lou (Sigoloff) Taback and husband Monroe “Monte” Taback of Merritt Island, Florida and Barbara Ann (Sigoloff) (Aldridge) Dooley and husband William “Bill” James Dooley of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: James Brian Aldridge (Tracey Duffy) of New York City, NY, Michelle Stacy Aldridge (Michael Mitchell) of Asheville, NC, Rachel Danielle Sigoloff Taback of Tampa, FL, and Michael Davis Sigoloff Taback of Altamonte Springs, FL. Sara Lee had three step-grandchildren: Leah Kathryn (Dooley) Eickhoff (Eric Eickhoff) of Chagrin Falls, OH, Elizabeth Anne (Dooley) Forney (Abraham Forney) of St. Joseph, MO, and Erin Kristine (Dooley) Goris (Grant Goris) of Wentzville, MO. She had three great-grandchildren: Natalie Sky Aldridge, Jared Dylan Aldridge and Lloyd Brinley Griffin IV. She also had six step-great-grandchildren: Lauren Eickhoff, Annelise Forney, Wyatt Forney, Naomi Forney, Ryan Goris and Nathan Goris. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Harvey Leonard Davis and Marvin David Davis. Sara Lee graduated from Central High School in Omaha, NE in 1946. She attended the University of Missouri, Columbia where she met her husband. She worked in her husband’s clothing store “Eddie’s Toggery” in Columbia and spent many years as a sales clerk at Neiman Marcus in St Louis County, MO. She was one of the original employees at the store. In 1998, she and Eddie retired to Suntree, Melbourne, FL where she volunteered in the Suntree Elementary School and was awarded “Senior Volunteer of the Year”. Sara Lee loved visitors, was an avid St Louis Cardinals Baseball fan, read the New York Times every day and kept up with politics and fashion trends throughout her retired life. There was always a book to read and a cookie for her visitors. She was a member of Temple Israel, Viera, FL. Sara Lee loved being a Granny and keeping up with her grand and great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held with her family and friends. Her body was donated to the University of Central Florida Medical School at her request.
